Use my own hosting
-
Hi,
I just created my blog on wordpress. I am currently creating a website and I will use this blog to communicate with my FB fans, followers on twitter etc.
I already have a domain name which is host on Godaddy.com. I have seen that we can use a subdomain for $13/year and wordpress will still host the domain.
I would like to know if I transfer the hosting of the blog to godaddy, will I be able to change the domain name to a subdomain of mine? If yes how can I do? Do I still have to pay $13/year if I use my own hosting?
Thanks for your answer and have a good day.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you physically move the blog to Godaddy you should be able to map the blog as a sub-domain to your regular web site – you might also be able to drive your whole web site with WordPress.ORG software
You would not need to pay WordPress.COM anything as long as you physically move your blog off WordPress.COM (all the files)
Note – you can leave your old blog here and not use it – just set it to private or clear the content and just leave a note that you have moved – we always suggest that you don’t delete the blog here as that takes away all your options

Thanks for your answer. Actually my blog is blank, I just created it and I would like to set it up correctly before starting using it.
If I move the blog to Godaddy, will I still be able to create new posts by connecting on wordpress.com? Basically, I would like to be able to manage my blog easily and use my own domain name and hosting.
Thanks for your help.

No – you would do all your work in your blog at Godaddy – if you use the jetPack plug-in then you would use your blog here to access the stats
The Dashboard of a WordPress.ORG install is almost the same as a WordPress.COM blog –
