  I would lik eto use a certain domain name for my wordpress site. It was taken, but I know that the owner has successfully deleted this domain name. When I go to the site its says The authors have deleted this site.

  Bu when I try to add a new site with this name I can’t ’cause Sorry, that site already exists! :-(

  Can anyone pls advise???

  Hi Denise,

  Take a look at this post: https://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  Once a blog has been deleted, its related address is no longer available to use under any circumstance. Just to quote:

  Addresses (URLs) for blogs that have been deleted by the owner will remain deleted. We cannot, under any circumstances, allow someone to take over the address of a blog that was owned and deleted by its original/previous owner.

  If there’s any way you can think of a new, original address to restart your blog with, or a small variation on the name you were going to use, that’s probably the best option. Hope that helps :)

  Only read your last comment. How unfortunate that they won’t let you use deleted domain names again :-(. Don’t understand, but well, it is what it is. Thanks!
