use of blog name which has been deleted

  I would like to create an additional blog under the name insidehealth.wordpress.com.

  The setup tool doesn’t allow it, but when i look it up, the blog no longer exists – is it possible to be able to get use of this URL?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  No, it is not. Deletions are permanent at WP.com.

  Thanks – so just confirming that if a name has ever been used on wordpress.com, it could never be used again?

  That is correct. Accounts are not deleted so the name does belong to someone, or at the very least to the email address associated with it. WordPress won’t take the account away from the owner, whether it’s associated with a blog, active, suspended, deleted, or not.

  You are welcome. You could look into domain mapping as mentioned in the link I gave you above. It is a paid upgrade.
