USE OF CLASSIC EDITOR

    I cannot access my material, nor can I navigate through it, nor can I create new posts using the present new BLOCK editor b.s.
    I simply wish to type my content and edit it as I wish.
    This is too confusing and will cause me to leave WOrdPress.

    I can’t help you but I am with you. I am trying other sites because this place is becoming unusable. I spent 4 days working on two posts that have now disappeared. Do they have any idea how frustrating that is to have wasted that much time? They don’t care. They won’t even acknowledge the issues.

    Came to say the same thing. I’ve been using the Classic Editor this whole time because the block editor won’t save my posts.
    And now they’ve removed that option! I literally cannot write posts without the classic version.
    And I know we’re not alone. There are posts about this issue all over the internet.

    @naftalic2012, and others,

    Hi. WordPress.com has recently combined the Calypso and WP-Admin sidebars into one, as described in the forum topic Unified Navigation. The damage can be partially remedied by choosing the “Show advanced dashboard pages” at Account Settings > Dashboard Appearance, as described in the Dashboard Appearance section of the Account Settings support page.

    The Classic Editor is still available to all WordPress.com users, and it’s still free. Here’s the Classic Editor support page, and the recently revised How to Access the Classic Editor section of that support page.

    So good to hear! It´s awful. I am looking for a new way to blog and any suggestions on that and/or how to transfer all the material I have already blogged would be appreciated.

    I know…it´s driving me crazy. If you know other reputable/good places to set up a blog and then any info on how to transfer the older WordPress stuff over, I would greatly appreciate it!

    My first blogging experience was in 2008 with Blogger (Blogspot). I liked it, and created several sites that I never developed much because I switched to WP.com within a month or so. In my short time at Blogger I created a bunch of sites, all with different themes, but I’m presently having trouble accessing the account. Until I regain access to the account, and work for a while with that platform again, I can’t recommend it.

    I’ll let you know if I find another platform that I like. : )

    Well, that was an ordeal. I’ve been on WordPress for a decade, and every year it gets fiddlier and more frustrating to use. So many things to click through these days. Sigh.
