Use of forms and form data

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

I am looking to create a form for people to submit their consent for GDPR and keeping their details in a secure place on the website. Do you have any template forms and if I get members to submit their details online to the site i.e complete the form, where does the data go, and can it be directed into a database or a spreadsheet at least?

    Thanks

    Andrew

    Hey there,

All WordPress.com users have the ability to create basic Contact Forms within Editor or via shortcode, for more information on these basic forms please review the following documentation: https://en.support.wordpress.com/forms/contact-form/. The user enters their data in the input fields the forms collects the information, organizes it and forward to the specified address of the account.

If you are Business plan holder then you have further access to plugins that allow for more custom and complex forms. If this is your situation I would suggest heading the Plugins section of your My Sites dashboard and entering “forms” into the search field to view the information on the various available plugins that meet your search parameters.

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers
