Use of micro data in posts and widgets on wordpress.com
-
I would like to mark up some of our data with html microdata attributes (itemprop, itemscope etc.)
I can see no way that this would impact the security model of wordpress.com. These attributes are only provided as an aid to search engines in understanding the context of the data on the page with a view to improving SEO.
Specifically, I’m trying to add movie listings events for our small film club and have just found out that I can’t add the attributes I need to.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you read this section of the support documentation?

Hi,
Yes, I had read that page. I went through the support options and searched for a similar question, then the system led me to believe I was posting a support request to WordPress.com. As it turns out, I was posting to a forum with little chance of the message actually getting to the right people.I don’t see any reason why they can’t allow these html attributes, aas they don’t present any kind of security threat, but obviously nobody here is going to be able to escalate that request. I realised the second my post re-appeared to me that I was never going to get any satisfaction and began looking at self-hosting instead.
Thanks anyway.
