    Hello,

    For DKIM to work, I need to create dns TXT record with name ‘selector._domainkey’
    But web form does not allow the undescore symbol.

    – Why the underscore is not allowed in TXT record name?
    – How do I proceed?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Can you both give me your specific value, that looks like ‘selector._domainkey’?

    Is this some kind of sad joke? Is wordpress.com doing this on purpose?

    Surely you could see the value in people being able to use your DNS like any modern DNS for verified email/DKIM.

    Go here: http://kb.mailchimp.com/delivery/deliverability-research/set-up-custom-dkim

    The problem is with your CNAME records no accepting entries including underscores, however underscores are REQUIRED in modern DKIM records.

    @chrisrudzki
    Would it be preferable for Volunteers to direct future bloggers creating such threads to email Staff?

    @timethief:

    That’s probably best, as it often requires sharing private information. Thank you!

    Hi Chris,

    I sent an email to help@wordpress.com on Saturday with the CNAME record required for DKIM authentication for MailChimp.

    Thank you

    Just to keep folks updated, we’re aware of this bug, and working to fix it.

    At this time, you should be able to add such records by visiting the page linked below, and clicking “Edit Domain”.

    I was able to add the Mailchimp CNAME containing an underscore for DKIM authentication. Guess we just needed to make some noise?

    Thanks for fixing it some quickly!

    Hi chrisrudzki, I’m still not able to add the code. When I click “Save Changes” there is a message saying something as “an error occurred while processing your request”. What’s the problem now?

    @willspectorylosfatus:

    Can you walk me through the exact steps you took? As I mention, you can always email us at help@wordpress.com with your full TXT record and we can add it for you.

    @chrisrudzki

    Hi, I already sent you that info a couple of days ago. Anyway I’ve just sent it once again. It contains the CNAME record I need for you to add it. Thank you.
