Use of WordPress

I already have a domain purchased from GoDaddy. I wish to develop my web site from WordPress. What is the procedure for that?

Hi there,
You can create a free WordPress.com site.
You can click on the Start with Free button to create a free site on the below link:

https://en.support.wordpress.com/video-tutorials/get-started/If you have a domain you want to use at WordPress.com that you have hosted elsewhere, you do indeed have the option to map or transfer that domain.
First, whether you map or transfer your existing domain, you will need to purchase a WordPress.com plan.
The biggest factors to consider would be who you want to host your domain, how much your domain host currently costs compared to the domain + plans packages we offer here, and whether or not you want to host your domain and site at the same place.
If you transfer the domain to WordPress.com, we’ll manage the domain. You’ll pay for the mapping and the plan here (domain is included within the plan price for the first year).

But, if you keep the domain with your current host and map the domain to WordPress.com, your current host will continue to manage the domain and you’ll still need to pay them for hosting your domain.

For more information about the domain, please visit our support page:
You can map or transfer your domain here at WordPress.com site once you are done with your site. Please check the below link for more details:

Hope this helps!
Cheers!

Yes :) This is a very common question. Go ahead and build your new site on WordPress.com. Import your content, customize the theme, get it all ready to launch.
Keeping the new site private will help prevent any SEO confusion since you’re going to have the same content on two different addresses.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/Once ready, the domain can get connected with one of our plans. https://wordpress.com/pricing/
There’s 2 ways to connect the domain. Either will work fine.
1. Mapping: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
2. Transfer: https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/Write back with more questions :)
