use the free domain then migrate owned one later?

    We currently own a domain and someone else is managing it. But we’re wondering if we can create a FREE account/site first before migrate (fully or partially) later. Would it be possible? Thanks!

    Hi @bcsmkt, no problem. You’re welcome to stage your new site with us before pointing the domain here. That way your current site can stay “live” until your new one is ready.

    I do recommend getting a plan earlier on if you’ll need it, since they have other features you might find useful, including direct support:
    https://wordpress.com/plans

    Then just avoid using the domain options until you’re ready.
