Use URL for deleted blog on another host?

  I purchased a domain name at GoDaddy, but decided to try hosting on WordPress.com so I paid the $10 hosting fee and made the changes on GoDaddy for the DNS. I soon found I needed more flexibility, so decided to use WordPress(.org) on GoDaddy’s server instead and set up the domain there.

  I changed the DNS back to GoDaddy’s default, then deleted the WordPress blog on WordPress.com. Now when I try to use the Admin URL, I get the message that the blog was deleted. I read all the warnings about deleting the blog, but I thought since I owned the domain name myself, I could delete it on WordPress.com and then set it up elsewhere.
  Isn’t this so? Or have I screwed this up?

  It looks like it just takes a little time for WordPress.com to let go of the URL or for GoDaddy to change the domain mapping. This has been resolved.

  Typically a DNS change takes anywhere from 24 to as much as 72 hours to make it through the system and stabilize.
