User Account and Websites deleted – removed

    I have multiple domains hosted by godaddy running wordpress. Two main two domains for two different and a couple of support domains.

    Earlier this year one of the main sites was due for renewal however long story short, the domain was not renewed in time and I had to pay extra to have it recovered.

    The original site was supposed to come with automated local backups and I manually backup each site via a plugin on a regular basis.

    The issue I’m experiencing is I cannot locate any of my backups, the automated or manual backups, my websites are gone, wordpress.com reponds with I have no sites and that my user name does not exist? .

    Can anyone help me understand why one domain expiring which was successfully recovered would take down 3 websites, remove my wordpress sites, my main wordpress login information, site user name, user accounts and remove, delete or hide any and all local backups?

    Any help would be appreciated, the account deletion is very concerning.

    The domain was recovered successfully and is active.

    Hi there, the username you are posting from is only a few hours old and you haven’t provided any of the domain URLs, but it sounds like you’re talking about sites using the standalone WordPress software rather than sites hosted here on WordPress.com

    Just to clarify, WordPress comes in 2 flavors: the fully hosted WordPressdotcom (where we are ) and the open source WP (org) project at https://wordpress.org This support guide explains some of the differences between them: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    You can find all the support information for sites using the WP (org) software at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page and at https://wordpress.org/support/ If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums, you can register one on that page. I also suggest searching the forums there for a similar issue before posting.

    You can likely get assistance on this issue from GoDaddy as well.

    Also, if your standalone WP sites were connected to WordPress.com through the Jetpack plugin, please log in here with the username you registered to make the connection and then use the form on this page if you had a Jetpack upgrade plan with back up service.
