User Blocked Invites

One of my team members tried inviting me as an admin to their blog site, but they keep getting a ‘user blocked invites’ message. I’ve combed all my settings and can’t find out how to disable said ‘block’. Help! Thanks in advance.

What is the site URL of your team member? This usually happens when a site is flagged for having a large number of pending invites — invites that have been sent but not accepted by the recipients. Spammers often abuse the invite feature, so this automatic system check is unfortunately necessary.
So, I would like to see if that is the case with this site. Please let me know the URL of the site and we’ll take care of the rest. Thanks!

Yeah, you are right. I checked and that is not the issue.
Here are the instructions to unblock invite emails:
1. On https://subscribe.wordpress.com/ enter the email address used on WordPress.com and click on “Request details”. (The user needs to be logged out to see the box.)
2. You will receive an email titled “[Subscribe] Your Subscription Details” containing a link looking like this:
https://subscribe.wordpress.com/?key=a111b222&email=wp%wp.com.
3. Copy that link in your browser address and add &unsub_invites&option=cancel at the end.
4. You should get a line that looks like this:
https://subscribe.wordpress.com/?key=a111b222&email=wp%wp.com&unsub_invites&option=cancel — click enter to load it.
5. A confirmation message will appear: “You will now receive invite emails again at (email visible only to moderators and staff). To stop receiving them, click here”.
Once this is done, you will be able to receive invite emails again.

Hello. I went through all the steps and it did not work. I did not get a confirmation message after I entered the URLs into my browser. Tried it on Chrome and Safari. I first tried your solution without logging in, then when it didn’t work I tried logging in and that didn’t work either. What else can I do? Thanks for your help.

Yes! I followed the instructions exactly and have tried several times. After I put the modified URL into my browser’s search bar and hit the enter key, I’m taken to the subscription management page and no confirmation message appears.

@swisssolar I’ve just tried to clear it on our end. Can you try now to have them send an invite?
