User Blocked Invites

  Every time I try to add a new author/administrator/etc. to my public blog it says User Blocked Invites. When I look up information on this topic I only find information that does apply.

  I literally cannot send the invite at all. Period. I am not saying that I send the invite and they do not receive or cannot accept the invite. I am saying I cannot even send the invite. The user claims after viewing their settings they are not blocking invites. If you look at the blog you will see I already have more than one author but in the last few years it has become a nightmare to add users.

  I need someone to walk me through this in elementary school language. No technical jargon. If you can post pictures with arrows that would be great because none of the users in question have the remotest idea about how WP works.

  How can a user tell for sure and certain tell they have blocked invites? Obviously the users have not blocked invites manually or consciously so I expect there must be a default setting somewhere (perhaps multiple default settings that are relevant) and I need to know where. If there are multiple settings I need to know all them and I need to know in the simplest terms every single step needed to find them. Nothing is too obvious.

  If the user truly has not blocked invites which many swear up and down they have not why am I still getting this message? Is there something wrong on my end of the equation?

  Walk me through inviting a user. Obviously since I have multiple authors I have done this successfully but just encase the method has changed or there exists multiple methods or some settings on my end which have accidentally been changed I need to know everything.

  Hi there, it sounds like you might have some invites that are pending. You can invite up to 10 people at a time to join your site, but if you have 10 pending invites, the system might not let you send any more until either those people accept the invite or you revoke their invite.

  Check your User dashboard at https://wordpress.com/people/invites/ and let us know what you find.
