‘User does not exist’
-
Urgent! My company created an account for me on their WordPress site using my email. However, I never received a confirmatory email and when I would try to sign into WP with that account it would tell me ‘User does not exist’. I managed to get into their WordPress by adding it as a new site to my personal WP account. I entered their url through Jetpack and then logged into their server using the details of the account they made me. It worked in that I’m now logged into the dashboard on their account with the details they made for me. However, I cannot change my profile picture because when I try to log into Gravatar with the email I use for the company site it says ‘User does not exist’. I tried to change the email on my profile of the company site, and it says it is pending and I’ve been sent an email to change it. However, I never received any email. What’s the issue? Is this because the account they created for me is just a subsidiary of their site and not an actual WP account? Who are the emails being sent to? How do I fix this? Sorry for the long question, but please answer quickly! I have been trying for a week to fix this, but I need to publish my first article tomorrow and this issue needs to be resolved by then. Thank you!

Hi @chloemghaleb, if they’re using their own copy of WordPress, its logins are totally separate from services by Automattic, like WordPress.com and Automattic. I’d recommend creating a Gravatar using the same email address you use for the site login.
If you need help with that, let us know.
