User invites stuck at waiting

  I see this appears to be a common issue. I send invitations to new users, they receive the emails and they follow the instructions. But they never leave the “waiting” status.
  I was told one users attempt took them to a page and” I get the never ending “checking” when I enter email address”

  How do I resolve this for them? I am a newbie to WP.

  Hi there!

  I see you sent invitations to several email addresses that aren’t linked to WordPress.com accounts. If those people don’t yet have an account, they will first need to create one here:

  https://wordpress.com/start/account/user

  Once that is done, they can go to the invitation email and accept the invitation you sent. That will add them to your site.

  If clicking the “Accept Invitation” button in the email doesn’t work for them, they can also copy the link from the bottom of that email and paste it directly into the browser where they are logged in to their WordPress.com account.
