  Is there a built in module to WordPress allowing user login which will then allow them to see pages only available to them? Would also like logged in users to be able to submit documents and possibly data via a web form to the system admin. If this is not available in the basic WordPress installation what free add ons can be used please? I am pretty new to WordPress so have no idea.

  The closest thing we have to what you are describing is password protected posts and pages. Although it’s worth noting that it won’t be possible to assign a different password for each user or user group:

  Would also like logged in users to be able to submit documents and possibly data via a web form to the system admin.

  A contact form can be used to collect information but it doesn’t support the upload of files and documents:

  You may be able to add this sort of functionality using custom plugins on the Business plan. The other option is to create a self hosted WordPress.org site:

  Following on from my last reply — I’ve found a way to create a members only area with private content:

  It’s not an ‘out of the box’ solution but could be useful.

  Thanks for looking into this. To me it seems that WordPress is a little weak in this area when compared to other solutions such as Joomla which ship with a user registration and login system as part of their basic build. Although WordPress does seem easier to use for a novice in terms of adding content.
