User Management – Teacher, Administrator Access
-
I am developing a course and need teachers to be able to manage their students (add them to the course, remove them, etc.) and allow the administrator to be able to view and edit ALL students. However, teachers should not be able to view and edit other teacher’s students.
So, essentially, I need to assign users to other users. Or something of that nature.
Is there a way to do this through WordPress users? Possibly a plugin that accomplishes this? I’ve tried a variety but nothing successful so far.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Hey there,
Many thanks for reaching out and providing the information regarding what you need.
It is possible to do with WordPress.com, and the plugins you see here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/user%20roles/ can edit what a user on the site can and can’t do, based on user role.
These sorts of plugins would need to work in tandem with another plugin that would run your courses, and other student and teacher roles – which brings me to my next question:
I’ve tried a variety but nothing successful so far.
What plugins and things have you tried so far? This will reduce us doubling up on suggestions of what you need. :)
Also to note, to run a site like this – the site at WordPress.com would need to be on the Business plan:
