user name availabilty after immediate deletion

    Deleted my wordpress site as that is what it suggested I did. (new to this and made a few errors) I was under the impression I could just sign up after deletion with the same user name but it is saying unavailable. How long after deletion does it become available again?

    Never – gone forever

    Who the heck suggested you delete the site? – that is NEVER recommended here – by anyone – there is NOTING you can do to a WordPress.COM blog that can’t be fixed by helpers in the forum or in a worst case some help from the staff

    Um, except delete the site. If you delete it, it’s gone for good; that is why there are three warnings in sequence and an email confirmation. You cannot get it back. Deletions in WP.com are permanent.

    If you MUST have a particular URL you can always buy the custom domain and domain mapping upgrades and get whatever.com instead of whatever.wordpress.com if you like. Otherwise, jsut register a variation on the URL you deleted.
