User Name Change
-
I would like to change my uer name t Skye Blue Photography with spaces rather than skyebluephotography as one word…is this possible?
-
Yes. Go to your Profile page and partway down there’s a place where it says nickname. Put Skye Blue Photography in there, then save the changes. Then, on the same page, scroll down a little farther where it shows which name to display. You can now select your nickname on the drop-down menu, and save the changes. Then it will be different, except on your dashboard and here in the forums. When you comment or post on a blog, it’ll be the new name.

Give it time! Search engines don’t take notices of changes immediately. Give it a few days before you decide that Google hasn’t noticed your new name.
-
Also, do you know that the URL your username is linked to is incorrect? You need to take the .au off the end.
-
And take the www out of the url, too.
By the way – what rain explained is how to change your display name, which will work everywhere but here in the forums. Your user name will remain the same and user names can’t have spaces in them.

You changed it and expect Google to pick up the change retroactively within four hours? That’s not going to happen. In fact, the change did not used to HAPPEN retroactively (ie on your old posts) but it now appears that it does, although it can take a day or so for all the changes to go through. Google and other search engines probably won’t index it until you’ve made at least one new post, and probably not for several hours if not a couple of days. Your “new” username doesn’t have any google juice at the moment, and it’ll take time for it to outrank the old.
