User name changed to random text string

  I got a wordpress.com user name back in March and it was cool. I hadn’t used it for a bit and tried it today but couldn’t log in. I finally discovered the problem was that my user name has been changed to “g2-826c9d85f95f4cb630f5a7dad8c76241” which is a bit of a challenge to type and even harder to remember. Any particular reason for this? Am I expected to abandon it? I searched the forums but didn’t see any related posts.
