User or token does not have access to the specified subscription
-
I am logged into my WordPress.com site, trying to add payment card details so that my domain mapping for the site will renew. When I submit the card details, the page throws up a red alert banner saying: ‘User or token does not have access to the specified subscription’.
Clearly I used to have access, since my domain mapping renewed every year until the payment card expired. How can I successfully enter my payment card details?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi democritus460,
There are no upgrades owned by the account you are currently logged in to. Which domain do you need to renew the domain mapping upgrade for?
Just let me know and we’ll go from there.
Thanks!

Hi gemmacevans
Thank you for responding. The domain is quadranting.com. I’m getting scheduled reminders to renew mapping for the domain but the process falls over as described when I log in to try to update my card details.

Hi democritus460,
The domain mapping upgrade for quadranting.com is owned by another account. Please log out of your democritus460 account and log in as ambergate to renew.
Let me know how you get on.
Thanks!

Hi
Thanks again. I’ve logged out as Democritus450 and logged in as Ambergate. As you’ll see from the attached screen grabs, the Ambergate WP Admin dashboard prompts me to renew mapping.
But when I get to the checkout, the form doesn’t appear.
The blocks of colour under Order Summary – which I guess should show text – are pulsing. The squares under Order Summary that are apparently links or check boxes respond to the cursor hovering but not to clicks.
Maybe I should cancel domain mapping on the Ambergate account and start afresh while logged into Quadranting?

Hi democritus460,
As you’ll see from the attached screen grabs, the Ambergate WP Admin dashboard prompts me to renew mapping.
It’s not possible to attach files to replies on these forums however, they can be uploaded to your Media Library. Please don’t share the file URL here, just let me know when they’ve been uploaded and I’ll take a look.
I’ve logged out as Democritus450 and logged in as Ambergate.
Your replies are still being posted as democritus460. To make sure you are logged in to the correct account, please try the following:
- Log out of democritus460
- Clear your browser cache using these steps
- Log in as ambergate
- Check which account you are logged in to on your My Profile page (the account name is displayed under your profile image).
It would be great if you could reply here logged in as ambergate :)
Thanks!

OK. I’ve uploaded the screen grabs. I’m pretty sure I’m now logged in as Ambergate (@ambergate, screen name NotSoVeryDemocritus, avatar a drop of water on a leaf). Maybe confusion due to my last reply being by email.
Either way, I’ve logged out, cleared cache, and logged in as ambergate and I’m still getting blanked at the point shown in the fourth screen grab. My Ambergate billing history shows the payments taken for the quadranting.com domain mapping up to 2016. It’s also showing the details of my current payment card – valid to October 2018 – so in theory WP ought to be able to take the 2017 payment.
Thanks for your patience but this is beginning to feel rather like sailing round in circles…. :)

Hi ambergate,
Thanks for the screenshots, they were a big help. I’ve looked into this further and although you are the owner of the upgrade, you are no longer as user on quadrantingdotcom.wordpress.com.
quadrantingdotcom.wordpress.com is owned by the account you were previously logged in to — democritus460. However, the upgrade for that site is owned by your ambergate account. Would you like to transfer ownership of the domain mapping upgrade to your democritus460 account so you can manage both from the same place?
To help get your domain mapping upgrade working as quickly as possible, I’ve sent a payment request for the renewal to the email address on your ambergate account.
Please reply and confirm whether you are happy for me to transfer ownership of the domain mapping upgrade to your democritus460 account.
Thanks!

Hi gemmacevans,
Many thanks for sending the payment request. That worked – I’ve been able to pay for the domain mapping renewal.
And yes, please transfer ownership of the upgrade to the democritus460 account.
Thank you for all your help. Much appreciated!

Hi ambergate,
Thanks for your payment — I’ve transferred the domain mapping upgrade over to your democritus460 account.
Come back to me if you need any further help!
