user role vs embedding video

hi all, i wonder if anyone knows that user role has anything to do with embedding video on a post. i found out that only administrator can embed video on a post. if i log in as author or editor, i can’t paste embed video code in HTML view. it keeps stripping the object and embed tags out, only leaves the link of the video. is it true? if i want to let author/editor has the right to embed video, is there any way to do it? thanks a lot.
