User video upload

  Hi,

  we are looking for a solution where the users can upload videos from frontend to their profiles/channels (similar to YouTube). The videos need to have a voting system and we (admin and user who uploaded the video) have to be able to see how many views has the video got. The videos have to be organized in categories. Does anyone know if VideoPress would help us with that?

  It’s technically feasible, but I’d recommend you look into building a custom, self-hosted WordPress instead. For help with that, check out the WordPress.org Forums:

  While we’re working to always improve VideoPress, it’s probably not the best way to go about implementing what you want at this time.

  Also, since what you’re looking to build seems to fall in the realm of a social network, perhaps you should check out BuddyPress as well:

  BuddyPress
