User/contributor pages
-
Hello! Sorry to clog up the forums, but I’ve got a few questions and none of them are related.
I work as an editor on another WordPress-based website that has a contributor page. I can’t seem to figure out how to do this on my own website…
Perhaps the one I work for is hosted by WordPress.org, but the editor is exactly the same. I would like to include user pages for all of my writers with small bios and pictures. For now, I’ve had to link them manually to their Gravatars. Very annoying!
I can’t seem to find an answer to this question, maybe I’m not looking at the right tags. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We meet again @wcbheadlights!
Yes though the platform might look the same on WP.org vs. WP.com they have some disctinct differences as well.
Here is the info you need on how to create users on you blog.

Hope that helps!

Thank you Marioashley! I really appreciate your help, hopefully this should do it for me. (:

Ohh I’ve already seen this page and have created users – what I mean, actually, is that I want to show bios for my writers outside of their gravatars. Is that not possible on WordPress.com?

Anything is possible on wordpress :)
Can you give me an example of what you’re trying to do…

haha good, I’m glad I’m not limited because it would be super complicated to switch over at this point! :D
Basically, I want a menu title called “contributors”. When you click on that page, I’d like a page with a photo of each contributor and their name alongside. THEN, if you click on their name (which would be a link), They could have a page hosted by my website, instead of on gravatar, with a bio, possibly their own social media links, and also possibly a cue of their own posts.
So right now, for example, if you click on “wcbheadlights” above my posts, it brings you to a cue of my own posts, with no bio. I’d still like that cue if possible, but above it, a bio and photo. This would be linkable both by clicking on my name above my posts and also by clicking directly from the contributors page.
Is this just fantasy? :P

Make a Page called Authors – make child pages to that Page for each Author – works sort of like leafs on a tree
On the each Author bio Page – not sure if you can do a direct link/sort for the Author name – but you can make a Tag for each Author and have a link to the Tag and that should give a list of Posts by a particular author
