  Hi,

  I just realised that I made a mistake with usernames and would like things rectified.

  I previously had an account and site by the name of thirtyoneplease.

  I wanted to change my branding to ‘whiteplans’ instead and managed to do so but somehow created a username of ‘whiteplans’ as a completely new account not connected to my ‘whiteplans.wordpress.com’ domain.

  I have since changed the username on the new account to something else in order to free up that username for this account however everytime I try and use it, it says that it’s already in use.. but it’s definitely not as I just removed it from the other account.

  I would really like this username as it will match everything else I’ve built thus far..

  There is no such thing as freeing up a username account as they are never deleted. They can only be deactivated.

  You cannot register a username has previously been registered. Username accounts are not deleted so be clear on that. https://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/

  Once you change your username you will not be able to change it back and the old name will not be available for you or anyone to use. If you just want to show your name differently please only change your Display Name. https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/
