  Hi, I just created an account today and I noticed my username has a number at the end of it. I never added it. How can I remove it?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  The username, cozycottage, already exists in our system – it has been registered since 2009 – so you won’t be able to use it. That is why our system automatically appended a number.

  But you can change the public display name to whatever you want – the display name is what people will see as the author of your posts and comments, and the username will only be what you use to log in.
