  I had a strange username show up when I signed up for wordpress yesterday, today it is a different strange username. I’m concerned about developing a site if things like usernames are not secure. I was never asked for a username or password, just my email address.

  I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  Sorry to hear about the issue with strange usernames showing up on your account. This forum, however, provides support for WordPress.com accounts only.

  If your site is not hosted on WordPress.com, then you may be able to get help in the WordPress.org forums concerning this issue.
