  Hi, I would like to change my username (not the public display name) is there any way? because it is grayed out. If I will press the account closure, can I use the same email address and create a new WordPress account, and put in my desired username?

  Correct account: Yes

  Hi there, thanks for asking. There’s a couple of things you should note here:

  If you change your username, you will not be able to change back to your previous username and it will be locked so no one else can register it.

  If you want to create a new account using the same email address, first change your email address on this account to something else, otherwise the email address will be locked for 30 days.
