This is going to get a little confusing. But I’ll give it my best shot.

Registered my domain name ‘deckerfoto.com’ through GoDaddy.
A while back I setup a wordpress site as ‘deckerfoto.wordpress.com’, I never transferred my domain name to wordpress until today. Someway, some how, I ended up with two wordpress sites because upon loading wordpress up through GoDaddy, it provided me with a pop up saying ‘setup login credentials’ which I did, but what my credentials were for wordpress didn’t meet the requirements for GoDaddy so my password was different.

Upon going to deckerfoto.com/wp-admin, it allowed me to login with the GoDaddy credentials I setup and all was good, except that I didn’t have my premium template, that I stupidly purchased on my “other account” with a different password. So when I went to ‘deckerfoto.wordpress.com’ the template was my premium template, and when I go to ‘deckerfoto.com’, it was the default standard template.

Here is where it gets complicated. I come back from lunch, and all of a sudden ‘deckerfoto.com’ cannot be found, the username/password combo I setup in GoDaddy cannot be accessed through the /wp-admin. I am able to login to ‘deckerfoto.wordpress.com’, but not ‘deckerfoto.com’, so I have my account with the premium template still, but it doesn’t want to get picked up by my domain name I registered. So I duplicate my blog and change ALL of my username, email address, site address to seandecker88.wordpress.com, etc. Just so I can try and re-register my ‘deckerfoto.wordpress.com’. Now, wordpress tells me that ‘deckerfoto’ is already in use, even though I deleted that account and all it’s content after duplicating it, the email address (email visible only to moderators and staff) I registered it with cannot be found, so resetting my password is now no longer an option.

I royally screwed something up, I realize this, I am just somewhat at a loss right now and am trying to get back on the right track, and not lose my premium template that I purchased today.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Okay, which blog do you actually want to use? The GoDaddy one or one here? That’s the first thing we need to know.

    deckerfoto.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site.

So, if you want to blog here you’ll have to register a new blog. Then you have the option of pointing your domain name at it with the Domain Mapping upgrade, and then you can use the theme you bought (I believe themes can be transferred between blogs as they belong to the account; if not, staff can still sort it out, since you have a 30 day refund period).

I would like to use the one here. I only registered the Domain through GoDaddy, didn’t actually plan on using WordPress through it, I was naive and thought it would just be integrated using my account information, I guess I was wrong.

So I am absolutely trying to use ‘deckerfoto.wordpress.com’ through wordpress, not through GoDaddy, however, upon trying to re-create that blog, it is telling me that it is already in use.

In the meantime, I will go ahead and head over to GoDaddy account and uninstall the wordpress hosting on my domain name.

So you absolutely CANNOT use ‘deckerfoto.wordpress.com’ at all, ever. Pick a new URL. Since you’ll be using a custom domain with it, the underlying URL doesn’t really matter that much.

Be sure to get a refund from GoDaddy if you paid for the hosting as well as the domain name.

Once you have registered another blog here, you do this to get the custom domain mapped to it: http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/ and realize that it takes up to 72 hours for the DNS to settle down and the link to always work properly, so be patient.
