  Dear WordPress,

  I joined in April 2015, after my wife created our first WordPress blog.

  By accident my username turned out to be ‘christianvongebhardi2’. I don’t remember where and why the ‘2’ was added. However, when I try to Change my username and remove the ‘2’ the System won’t let me do it, since the username ‘christianvongebhardi’ is reserved.
  I tried this in April and re-tried now, in June. The result keeps to be the same.

  Could you please help me with that issue!

  Hello Christian,

  If the other username is reserved, that means someone else had registered it and you will not be able to change to it.

  Try changing it to a similar username which is available.

  thanks for the hint.

  Actually, I believe I registered it by myself in a faulty attempt to register WordPress the first time. So, I do not think that there is a real other natural person actively using this username.

  When posting my question I hoped that a WordPress admin could help to resolve that issue, but anyway I forgot to explain it fully.
