Username and password

For some reason, I can not log into the dashboard of my wordpress website, http://www.frankdicesare.wordpress.com. I’ve had this site for years. Please help.

Are you able to access the log in page? It should be this URL here: https://frankdicesare.wordpress.com/wp-admin
If you are able to access that page but are still having troubles logging in, please let me know what error you are getting. You may also try clearing your browsers cache in the browser settings and trying again.

For some reason, WordPress is asking me to log into my account. It hasn’t asked me to do that in years! I’ve seemed to have forgotten my username and password with that account. Each time I use the username and password that I believe I created for this site years ago, it will not let me in.

Thank you for your reply. It sounds like you may need to reset your account information. You can do that by going here:

There you will find 2 options: The first one will send you a login link based on the email address associated with your account. The second option is for a password reset.

It doesn’t work. It keeps bringing me back to this new account I created by accident when I tried to change my password this evening.

I am sorry to hear that it is not working for you. Your site should only be associated with one account (email address) and that would not have changed unless you logged in and actually associated it with and new address. Make sure that you are logged out with this new account and then try it again and be sure to only submit the email address associated with the account. The username is your email address you used when you created the website.
If this does not work, you may need to seek out a Happiness Engineer in these forums to further investigate your account and help you obtain access.
My apologies for not providing better solutions but I do hope that this will get resolved soon for you.

Hi there,
First, completely log out of this account and clear your browser cookies. The reason you keep on getting taken back to this account could be because your browser is not properly logging you out.
Next, request a login link/try resetting your password using the username, frankpjd.
I do already see a few password reset attempts on that account, and the emails appear to be going through, so please check all email addresses you own, even ones that are still active but which you might not have used in a while. Also make sure to check the spam folders. For security reasons I cannot tell you the email, but I can tell you it’s not the same as the one you use to log into the account you’re using to post here in the forums.
If you no longer have access to the correct email address at all, please submit our account recovery form instead to verify your account ownership:

I’ve done all of that and I still can’t get it. According to the info on my WordPress iPhone app the email address for this account is (email visible only to moderators and staff). The problem is that account is also quite old and I’ve forgotten THAT password as well.
I launched this WordPress account back in May, 2010. I’ve never had problems logging in until last night. Please let me know what I need to do to verify my identity. I need to get into my dashboard so I can update my pages.

Have you only been trying from the iPhone app, or did you also try from a computer, or perhaps from the browser on your phone instead of from the app using the username?

Both! And neither will let me in! All I want to do is update my password so I can get into my dashboard. But WordPress insists on sending me back to my yahoo email account to retrieve information. But that account has been locked, too! I haven’t used it in years!

Did you get any of the password reset emails? Can you check other email addresses that you might have used to set up the account?
If you can get to the emails, to rule out a browser cache/cookie issue, can you try from a private browsing window on your computer?
