Username and password no longer work

  I manage another wordpress account which no longer accepts the username and password. I’ve tried everything and it just won’t work. I can’t even get in to change the password and username.

  The wordpress site is: http://www.joshfreed.ca/

  I have to post stuff. What do I do?

  Hi Janet,

  The WordPress site at http://www.joshfreed.ca/ is running a self-hosted/installed version of WordPress (using the free WordPress.org software). To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: WordPress.com and WordPress.org

  If you’ve lost your password for your self-hosted site, you’ll need to try one of these solutions:

  Rachel, thanks for writing me back. But my problem is that every support site requires a username or password and neither works.

  I’m really thinking about purchasing an upgrade so that this does not happen again. I’m at a loss…. and I even asked my “blog guru” to help and he could not get anywhere either.

  Can I keep this sign and just add an upgrade that allows me to get technical help when I need it? Or do I need my username and password to even upgrade the site. Oy.

  Since your site at http://www.joshfreed.ca/ is a self-hosted WordPress.org site, the support staff here at WordPress.com don’t have the power to help you with it. That’s because it isn’t hosted with us, and the account you use to access it is completely separate from your WordPress.com account. There aren’t any upgrades that will allow us to help with it.
