Username and web site name

    I want to change my username and web site name. The one I wanted is not available now because I deleted the site in an effort to reset my username. Do I need to have my entire account deleted and start over?

    It pays not to be too hasty, especially when a site name includes your own name. Even if you delete your account completely you won’t change the facts. That address is now unavailable for at least the next two years according to support docs. If you want to continue with a free WordPress.com site you’ll have to set up a new site with a different address. (Or you could upgrade to the Personal plan which gives you access to a custom domain name (without the WordPress.com in the address).
