I need to update my username to @gordysmarket. Would like that changed across the board. Wondering how this will effect the url’s from our past blog posts as “gordyscountymarket” is currently included in those url’s. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. If you change your username the old one will cease to exist and you won’t ever be able to change back to it again. Alternatively you can change only your display name which is shown when you leave a comment and as post author on your blog. Instructions for both are found here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/
You don’t need to change your blog’s URL if you change your username, but if you change the username the matching URL will anyway be reserved for you, even if you don’t register it.
When you change the URL the permalinks to all posts and pages will be changed to fit the new URL. If you want to change the URL instructions are found in this support doc: http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/
Please make sure you read the support doc and all instructions and warnings carefully as this process cannot be reversed.
When prompted whether you’d like to keep the old URL or delete it, DO NOT DELETE IT. There’s currently a bug in the system that will cause both the old and new URL to be deleted, so select the option to keep the old address.
Set the old address to private, and then you can either use it as a test blog to try out new themes and widgets, etc., or you can use it as a backup to your regular blog by periodically importing content to it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
To automatically redirect visitors from the old address to the new one you’ll need to buy the Site Redirect upgrade: http://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/ You don’t have to buy this, but if you don’t people who had your old address bookmarked won’t be able to find it, and any links to your old address on other sites will no longer work, so if your blog has been around for a while it is recommended.

Thank you for this information. Unfortunately I said remove the old address before I read further into your post. Help!! Now I can’t get my old blog posts.

Please disregard. It looks like I’m OK. When I click on old posts the link redirects to the gordysmarket.wordpress.com
Thank you!! :)

https://gordysmarket.wordpress.com/ appears alive and well, yes. Apparently that bug is selective in deleting blogs. Lucky you :-D
Those chocolate-covered oreos look divine. Now you have me aching for a midnight snack!
Happy blogging.

Oh my goodness. Crossing my fingers. Minor (major) loss of breath there. Thanks so much!

I do want to suggest you create an export file of your content, just to be on the safe side. That way you have a backup should anything go wrong. See here how to export your content: http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/

Thank you, this is extremely appreciated. Once I hit download it opened up the contents within an internet explorer tab (I am on chrome). How do you suggest I save this? Simply select all, copy and paste into a new notepad doc? Thanks again for all of your help!

Strange. It usually gives me the option to save the file (on Firefox). Chrome downloads automatically most of the time. Check your downloads folder. There should be a file with your blog’s URL, today’s date and the extension .xml.
If it’s not there, you can save the file out of IE. If you have the latest version of IE, click the gear icon top right, File ->Save as. With older IE versions, File should be in the regular toolbar menu. Make sure the file saves with the xml extension.
