Username Displayed AS WELL as visible name

    Please tell me?
    On the profiles page there is a field:

    Display name publicly as

    So I fill that in, with a quirky odd name so no-one will know who I am as I publicly ridicule idiots and moan about my family in an amusing and ironic way…
    However, when I post.. That name is handily subtitled by… MY REAL NAME!!

    So I have stones thrown at me in the street and my wife leaves with the milkman… THANKS!

    Ok, thats my user name and I could chnge THAT to be something quirky and anonymous, but..
    What then is the point of the field

    Display name publicly as
    …If you please?

    Is it possible to JUST post suing my Public Name, and keep my real one secret?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    You can change both your WordPress.com account username (the name you use to login) and your display name (the name that is seen on your posts and comments). Once you change your username you will not be able to change it back to what it was. If you just want to show your name differently please only change your Display Name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/

    Thx for your response, I changed themes.. and the new one seems to hide the real name OK.. I think it seems to be something to do with the gravatar image, the new theme doesnt have that…

    So.. Me ok now..
