Username Has Become Available – Why Can’t I Use It?

  I originally wanted Little Martha but someone else had it and I’ve used littlestmartha as my username. Until recently, Little Martha has deleted their blog. I tried to grab/create a wordpress blog with that username but WordPress said that the blog was already in use.

  ???

  Are we stuck in a loop?

  Hi. Blog names (and by extension, usernames that are identical to blog names) are not recycled. See here for an explanation:

  Usernames are not the same as blog names either. If you want Little Martha to display as your username, change it under Profile->Nickname. If you want Little Martha to be your blog name, find a variation that isn’t taken on WordPress.com OR find a variation like LittleMartha.whatever that’s available and buy the domain upgrade for that.
