Username or website new

    I am trying to change my user name. And it keeps saying that ”You are logged in as ”famuelectoralcommission” and do not have the necessary privileges to access the dashboard for ”WordPress.com”. If you are not ”famuelectoralcommission”, please log out, and log back in with your username. If you are ”famuelectoralcommission” and you need access, please ask an administrator of the site to invite you.”

    I don’t understand this site at all. I eventually want to use this to create my website by taking the ”wordpress” out, but I can’t seem to get the free version to work. I thought the user name would be the title of my blog. But when I go to famuelectoralcommission.wordpress.com it says ”famuelectoralcommission.wordpress.com is no longer available.”

    What does this mean? I clearly can’t just erase it and start over. And I refuse to create another email address because I already have too many. I was told that this was the best place to start a website. But this doesn’t seem to be the best way.

    You deleted the blog. As the warnings during the process said, that is permanent. You cannot get that blog URL back, ever.

    The good news is, if you want a whatever.com blog instead of a whatever.wordpress.com blog address, it’s easy. Register any URL at all, then on the dashboard of that blog, go to the Store page and buy the custom domain upgrade. Then the original URL is irrelevant.
