Username problem

I have joined WordPress, but there was a hiccup in the middle of my joining where I had established a username (friesiangirl), but when I tried to log in, it did not recognise my email address ((email visible only to moderators and staff)).
I tried to join again, but it said that username (friesiangirl) was already taken and I had to choose a new one (friesiangal).
Now my profile has my original username (friesiangirl) as the primary site and web address, but when I try to change the user name from friesiangal to friesiangirl, it still says it’s already taken.
How can I merge these 2 accounts so I have my original username (friesiangirl)?

If made both of them, but can’t login to one you want, do a password reset on the one you want. You can do that here: https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
