username rejected when trying to comment

  Went to a wordpress blog site and tried to comment. My username kept being rejected. That same username and password combo logs me in to wordpress.com however, so I know its valid. Any ideas what could be going on here?

  Stab in the dark – I noticed this post https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=16434 and wondered if the problem isn’t arising because you now have two usernames and may be trying to comment using one username when you are actually signed into wordpress using the other username.
