Username trouble

I’m having a bit of trouble changing my site’s adress.
I first created my blog as vanessareadsbooks.wordpress.com, but decided to change it to my current address about a month ago. When I did that, I created a ‘side blog’, to save the address (vanessareadsbooks). Today, I wanted to change my blog back to that address, so I deleted the ‘side blog’, so that I would be able to use the address vanessareadsbooks.
However, apparently when I deleted it, it didn’t actually get completely deleted, and now I can’t change the main blog’s address or username to vanessareadsbooks.wordpress.com as I intended. It says it’s reserved. Is there a way to solve this? How can I completely delete that blog and use vanessareadsbooks.wordpress.com as my address?Thank you very much for your time, I hope I explained myself well enough!

Hi there,
In the future, you would need to export the content of your current blog over to your side blog. You tried to delete the side blog so that you can free up the availability of the name for your current blog, but that is not how it works. When you delete a site, you essentially delete it indefinitely and you cannot regain access to the blog or blog address.
