  Hi. I’m an educator setting up a faculty blog. It needs to be private, so new-to-technology users feel safe, and I need to be able to have over 100 authors who can read and post. Can WordPress support this?

  Yes! You can mark your blog private.
  Settings > Privacy and invite new users
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/
  There’s no limit on users but you’ll have to invite 10 users at a time.
