Users cannot comment on my site, "Sorry, this comment could not be posted."

    Hello,

I run snarkfinance.com, and although ” Comment author must fill out name and e-mail ” is unchecked, and “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” is unchecked, when users who are not signed into WordPress try to comment on my site they receive a screen that is largely blank and simply says “Sorry, this comment could not be posted.” I cannot find anything on this issue on the forums, at least not easily. Please save me hours of searching and just let me know how I can make it so anyone can comment on my site. This is reducing interaction for my readers, and is harming my site from gaining new readers by making it look like no one reads my posts. HELP!

    Hi Mitchell,

I’m sorry to hear your site’s visitors are running into this problem — thanks for reporting it. We had another report of a similar issue, and we just fixed the bug that caused it. I tried leaving a comment on your site while logged out to see if I could reproduce the problem, and it went through just fine, so it looks like this is fixed on your site.

If any of your site’s visitors report having this problem again, please let me know and we’ll investigate further! :)
