    How do I allow people to post freely without having to approve the message? This is a real hassle and would just prefer it if folks could simply post as much as they want.

    You can change your setting re comment moderation on this page
    -> Options -> Discussion
    read closely and check off the field you prefer
    click “Update Options” to save

    Setting that aside, by opening discussion on your blog you are opening the doors to problem people. The two reasons those of us who do have comment moderation on are (1) to prevent spammers from posting to our blogs and (2) to prevent trolls from doing the same.

    thank you! I will keep the spammers in mind…i didn’t think of that. Is it usually a problem?
