Users not showing up on the User List

I have a private blog with hundreds of users. People pay for access.

It’s easier for me to automatically add someone as a user through the back door than to use the Invite Procedure.

    The backdoor is:

    http://XYZ.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-privacy.php?action=add_user&user_login=ABC

where XYZ is my site name and ABC is the user I am trying to add.

However, when I do this, the added user does not show up on my user list. This is a problem because when someone’s subscription expires, I need to be able to turn off their access to my private blog.

So I guess I need to know:

    1) Is there a way to get these users to show up on the user list using the backdoor? Or do I need to go through the invite procedure?

    2) How can I turn off the access (or change the status) of these users who do not show up on my user list?

    Many thanks.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Private users are controlled through Settings -> Privacy in your blogs Dashboard.
