Users on a business blog – creating internal profiles for external contractors

This is for the blog growingintotheworld.org , for The Children’s Museum of Atlanta.

I’d like to create several extra user profiles. We will be sharing posts written by quite a few people outside our Museum over the next few months. For example, our most recent post, Kids in the Kitchen, was written by a contractor who did 10 weeks of cooking demos for us.

We’d like each to have their own profile, which we’ll maintain internally, without the extra step of inviting each one, having them do the work of registering, etc. We just want to get their content, and add it under their byline. Can I simply create all the users as we need them, rather than asking these outside contractors for even more of their time, sending them an email, having them create their own WordPress account, etc?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I understand what you are trying to do, but all users must have their own WordPress.com account in order to have access to your Dashboard and/or post to your site. This way they will be logged in and authenticated in our system.

It only takes a moment to set up a WordPress.com account. If you want to help them bypass the creation of a blog, they can go to https://signup.wordpress.com/signup/?user=1 to skip that step.
