Users :S

I write two blogs, under the same username. Is it possible to change this so I have different ‘users’ operating the two blogs? (Both users would obviously be me). What’s the easiest way to do this? I’m sorry, I have looked but can’t get my head around it!

Sign up for a second account with WordPress.com using a different email address than the one you use now.

Transfer ownership of one of your two blogs to the new account.

Because WordPress.com uses the email address to identify a user, it will “think” that you are two different people. By having two accounts, you will have different usernames and you can have different gravatar images. If find it useful to use two different browsers (Safari and FireFox) so I can work on either or both blogs at the same time. I’ve also made myself in the other identity a co administrator on both blogs so I can sign in with either account and use just one browser to edit them.

    That’s a great idea, thank you! :)

Making myself a co-administrator is a good idea, however will this leave any public connection between the two blogs?

So I created the new username, but then forgot to log back in to the original account I posted this request from to say thank you! Gah! Sorry about that, and thank you so much!

As long as you don’t write post as an author, then your co-administrator status shouldn’t be available to the public and you (that is your alternate identity) won’t appear on the blog.

You have choices as an admin to choose who is the author of a post—in fact I sometimes choose my boss as the author of a post because while she is comfortable using Word she does not want to learn how to use WordPress. Just make sure you keep your personalities separate for each blog. I have 3 different accounts (or 4, counting my boss) and just got tired of switching from browser to browser.
