User’s themes

    It is so bad that we couldn’t upload our own themes or themes from wordpress.com. are you going to make any options for that?

    Themes used here have to be reviewed for security issues and the code has to be reviewed and changed so that it will work with the limitations and features here. An off the shelf themes from outside would be missing a whole lot of unique wordpress.COM features. The theme also all along the process has to be tested to work in all browsers and browser versions.

    This is a multi-user platform which means we all share the same underlying wordpress software and any security hole or bad code that would be introduced by one blogger could potentially affect all blogging here. There is a lot of badly written code, themes and plugins out there, some of it due to lack of experience and some on purpose. (I get paid handsomely for cleaning up the aftermath of that bad code on self-hosted installations.)
