Users to download audio files

I am writing on behalf of my band and we are looking into creating a website with you. We have query which we cannot find an answer for so we hope you can help.
We would like our website visitors to have the option to download audio files (as well as stream, but we already know streaming is possible) of our songs for free. Can we therefore:
1) store audio files (e.g. mp3) with WordPress (i.e. do you have a file/archive facility)?
2) can we then create a link/button so people can download the song to their computer/device?Thank you for your time.

I’m not WordPress but I’ll try to answer your question regardless.
Every free WordPress.com blog has a Media Library, in which you can upload your files. Every file has its own URL, so you can put that URL in any of your posts/page, so that people can download it directly.
However, by default you can only store files of the following type in your Media Library:
jpg, jpeg, png, gif, pdf, doc, ppt, odt, pptx, docx, pps, ppsx, xls, xlsx, key
As you can see, audio files are not included with that. If you want to add that option, you’re going to need to buy an Space Upgrade. More information can be found here: http://store.wordpress.com/premium-upgrades/extra-storage/
