Users v Subscribers

    Several people have signed up to receive my blog-posts via email. (There are more signed up than emails sent … but that’s not my question.) These folks are visible through my JetPack stats page — and they’re getting the emails, no problem.

    Over on the site’s WordPress dashboard, there’s a “Users” category. There are several folks listed as “subscribers” on that list. As far as I can tell, these people do NOT receive my posts via email. Do they get any notification? What IS this list? How did they get on it? What does their “subscriber” status mean?

    I think I’ve read enough support documents on Users to understand what USERS are why they aren’t receiving my posts via email.
