using 2 domains in one site??
-
Hi there,
So i would like to assign another domain name i have bought to my posts page on my sight here. How do you do that?
Let me show you an example of someone’s page who has what i want:
http://www.alexandrafranzen.com/Notice, when you click blog on her tabs, it takes you to a different url/site.
How can i set that up here?
Thanks! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

i already looked at this page.
this is not helpful and doesnt answer my question.
i have already mapped and bought the new domain i want in wordpress.
thats already done. thats NOT my question.my question is, how do i assign my blog posts page to a DIFFERENT url/domain, one of my 2 already purchased mapped domains, while STILL keeping the rest of the sites pages on the 1st URL/domain?
I want the two to be intermixed. and the blog page accessible on the tabs of my personal website, but when you click the blog tab, it takes you to a different url.
Is that clear? -
meaning, i dont want the extra domains i mapped to my site to simply redirect. i want one to show and be assigned to my blog only, while the other is for the rest of the site.

So you have a site on WordPress.com and you want the static pages to show up on one domain and the rest to show up on a different domain?
The easiest way to do this is to put the static pages on one site and hide the “blog” page of that site using a Custom Menu, and then attach one domain to that site. Attach the other domain to the site on which the blog posts exist and don’t add any static pages to that site.
Other than that, I’m not sure it can be done and you’d have to ask staff directly for assistance with it.

ok i see. but i want both to look as if they are the same site. i want all the pages to be accessible from each domain.
again, please look at this example for clarity:
http://www.alexandrafranzen.com/her site pages are all on her name.com. but if you click blog on the upper tab, it goes to a different domain. but her static pages are still accessible there too, so you can go back and forth fluidly between connected domains.
this is what i want.
thanks -
You cannot map multiple domains to one site here. You will have to do as raincoaster suggests and have two separate sites and then map each one to the domain name for that site.

Yes you can. For instructions, look at the forums at WordPress.ORG.
What I suggested here is a simpler way of doing it. Just use a Custom Menu to link from one to the other and use the same theme on both.
